We built My Financial Position so that privacy isn't a policy — it's the architecture. There's nothing to share because we never receive your data in the first place.
Every calculation on My Financial Position happens entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript. When you enter your income, savings, super balance or net worth — that data is processed locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers.
We have no database of user entries. We have no record of what you typed. Even if we wanted to see your financial data, we couldn't — by design.
My Financial Position does not use tracking cookies. We do not drop advertising cookies or use any cross-site tracking technology.
Some tools on the site — specifically the Budget Planner and Net Worth Forecast — save your entered data to your browser's localStorage. This is a browser feature that stores data locally on your device. It does not sync to the cloud, it is not transmitted to us, and it is not accessible to other websites.
You can clear your localStorage at any time through your browser settings (usually under Developer Tools → Application → Local Storage, or by clearing site data).
We currently run no analytics on My Financial Position. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no heat-mapping, and no session recording.
In the future, we may add Google Analytics with consent to understand how people use the site at an aggregate level (e.g. which pages are most visited, which age groups are most common). This would:
We will update this page before any analytics are enabled.
Because My Financial Position does not collect personal information, the Australian Privacy Act 1988 obligations around collection, use, disclosure, and storage of personal information are largely not triggered. We don't have personal data to handle.
Similarly, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), our client-side architecture means we do not process personal data as a controller or processor in the ordinary sense — there is no data to process.
If this changes in the future (for example, if we introduce email-based accounts), we will update this policy, obtain appropriate consents, and comply with all relevant obligations under Australian and international privacy law.
