My Financial Position is a personal finance benchmarking tool for Australians. You enter a rough snapshot of your income, savings, super, investments and debt - and we show you how you compare to Australians in the same age group.

There are no accounts, no logins, no credit checks. Just honest numbers to help you understand your financial position and make more informed decisions.

We believe financial clarity should be accessible to everyone - not just people who can afford a financial adviser.

Where does the data come from?

Real Australian data. Publicly sourced.

Our benchmarks are built from publicly available Australian data - updated regularly to reflect current economic conditions. We use income, wealth and superannuation statistics from three authoritative sources:

ABS
Australian Bureau of Statistics - Household Income and Wealth surveys (Survey of Income and Housing)
ASFA
Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia - superannuation balance benchmarks and retirement projections
APRA
Australian Prudential Regulation Authority - superannuation fund statistics and member balance data

Important: Benchmarks are approximations based on published percentile distributions. They are a guide only - not personalised financial advice. Individual circumstances vary significantly.

Yes. 100%. Nothing leaves your browser.

No accounts · No uploads · No tracking

All calculations happen entirely in your browser using JavaScript. We never store, transmit, or see your financial data. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers - not your income, not your super balance, not anything.

The Budget Planner and Wealth Forecast tools save your data locally in your browser's localStorage - this stays on your device and is never synced or uploaded.

We don't run analytics on your inputs, we don't use cookies for tracking, and we don't sell data. My Financial Position is just a tool - your numbers are yours.

Who built this?

A side project born from frustration

My Financial Position was built by an Australian who got tired of vague personal finance advice that never answered the simple question: "Am I actually doing okay?"

Financial benchmarks exist in dry academic papers and paywalled reports. We wanted to make them accessible - free, fast, and honestly useful - for every Australian, regardless of income or background.

This is a free tool, built for the community. We plan to add more features over time - including the ability to save and track your progress with Pro.
